Deep Tissue massage has a reputation for being painful, something you have to grit your teeth and endure.
You know the saying “No pain, no gain”? Well I’ve got news for you! You don’t have to leaving your deep tissue massage session feeling like you’ve been run over by a steam roller.
That’s not how we roll at The Glasgow Treatment Rooms.
As usual, we do things a little differently – Pain Free Deep Tissue.
To be fair it can still be a little uncomfortable at times but it shouldn’t be painful.
Your body and brain see painful experiences as threatening and something that needs to be protected against. Ultimately if your massage is painful your brain will feel the need to protect against it. This is most likely to be through flinching, spasming and cramping. Not ideal really when the goal is to create more freedom and movement.
There are ways to lull the body and brain into allowing greater depth during your massage session but brute force and ignorance isn’t it.
